Out of concern for the health of our community, the Board of Directors has voted to cancel the 2020 West Alabama State Fair and the West Alabama State Fair Barbeque Cook-off.  After reviewing local and national health data, making financial projections, and weighing the additional efforts associated with hosting an event during a pandemic, we are disappointed to have to make this decision.

Operating under sound financial principles since 1962, United Cerebral Palsy of West Alabama has provided programs and services to help young people and adults with disabilities live a life without limits.   The nationwide COVID-19 pandemic has placed an overwhelming fiscal hardship on our financial budget due to our inability to provide crucial vocational, therapeutic, and other developmental support services to the individuals who participate in our Day Habilitation program.

As we continue to work through these difficult and challenging times, like many of the other non-profit organizations in Alabama, we have found that we are experiencing a severe revenue shortfall as a result of the public health emergency. We want to thank all of our patrons, vendors, sponsors and volunteers for your support in the past and we hope you will continue to work with us when it is possible to safely hold a fair in the future.  Thank you!
